Tony ReidIn 1953, Tony Reid was born into the motorcycle world and business. He was the seventh of ten children. As young as 7 years old Tony took his first ride on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and thus truly started his journey in life. Tony was co-owner of Gowanda Harley-Davidson along with 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He worked in the Service Department for over 37 years. His customers were not only treated with respect, but many became his friends and family. Tony was always ready to lend a helping hand. In 2006, Tony was diagnosed with AILD (Angiommunoblastic Lymphadenopathy with Dysproteinanmia), a rare T-cell Lymphoma and would eventually need a bone marrow transplant. He had accepted this disease and was ready to battle it with his courage, strength and faith. This began his next journey in life. Over the next 3 years he was in and out of Roswell Park receiving chemo treatments, making new friends and still talking motorcycles with the staff. By 2008, Tony was in need of his bone marrow transplant and with the help of his family, friends and community, a match was found. In,
June 2009, Tony received his bone marrow transplant. Everyday was a
challenge for him and on July 3, 2009, Tony lost his battle. His final
journey…“Keep
The Faith” |

Frequently Asked Questions I didn't register in May. Is it worth it to get in the challenge now? Absolutely! For two reasons. First, Roswell Park benefits from your participation. Second, starting later doesn't mean you won't rack up just as many miles (or more) than someone who started early. I own two bikes. Can I combine the mileage from both? Yes, with the understanding that you are only riding one bike at a time.
Can I just give a donation to Roswell Park? |
